Say It Where: login helper — privacy

What it is for
Say It Where posts to your social media accounts for you from its own browser, on Say It Where's servers, so it works with your computer off. That browser has to be logged in to your accounts. The login helper has one job: when you press Use my Chrome's login on Say It Where, it hands the login you already have in your own Chrome, for that one social network, to your own Say It Where account. The networks trust a login made from your own home internet, so you are spared their codes and security checks.
What it does
- It runs only when you press Use my Chrome's login on a social network's card on app.sayitwhere.com. Nothing happens at any other time.
- When you press it, it reads the sign-in cookies of that one network from this Chrome (for Facebook and Instagram: facebook.com and instagram.com; for YouTube: google.com and youtube.com; for TikTok: tiktok.com; for LinkedIn: linkedin.com; for X: x.com and twitter.com), and sends them over a secure connection to your own Say It Where account, signed in as you.
- Say It Where keeps them encrypted, for that one business only, and uses them only to post, read how your posts did and answer comments and messages for that business, until you press Log out on that network's card or delete your account.
What it never does
- It never reads or sends your passwords. A login is handed over, never a password.
- It never runs on its own, in the background, or on a timer. It only answers the button on Say It Where's own site.
- It never reads your browsing, your history, your tabs, the pages you visit, or the cookies of any website other than the one network you pressed the button for.
- It never sends anything anywhere except to your own Say It Where account at app.sayitwhere.com.
- It contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and we do not sell or share data.
What is stored, and where
In the helper: nothing. On our servers: the login you handed over for each network (encrypted, for the business you pressed it for), and a record that you did so and when. Pressing Log out on that network's card deletes it at once; deleting your Say It Where account deletes everything. Removing the helper (chrome://extensions) stops it for good.
Why it needs each permission
- cookies, and access to facebook.com, instagram.com, google.com, youtube.com, tiktok.com, linkedin.com, x.com and twitter.com: to read the sign-in of the one network you press the button for, and only then.
- app.sayitwhere.com (the page it runs on): to show the button works, and to receive your press.
